An international team of researchers have for the first time, discovered that in a very high magnetic field an electron with no mass can acquire a mass. This discovery by Professor Stefano Sanvito, Trinity College Dublin and collaborators in Shanghai was published in the prestigious journal Nature Communications this month.

Now, a team based at ETH Zurich has introduced two new theoretical approaches, published in EPJ B, to stabilize the ferromagnetic state in quantum gases to help study it's characteristics.
