ایل قاجار
ایل قاجار، قاجارها، کاجارها از ایلات ترک اغوز در شمال شرقی ایران زندگی میکردند. قاجارها به عنوان شاخهای از مردمان آذربایجانی درنظر گرفته میشوند.[۱] در سال ۱۷۹۴، شخصی از میان این ایل با نام، آقا محمد خان قاجار توانست پس از سلسله زندیان، حکومتی جدید در تاریخ پادشاهی ایران، با نام قاجاریان را بنیانگذاری کند. جمعیت کنونی ایل قاجار، در حدود ۱۵٬۰۰۰ نفر در سال ۱۹۸۰ برآورد شده بود که عمدتاً در ایران سکونت دارند.
قاجارها حداقل از قرن نهم ه. ق و بعد از آن در قراباغ، بوزوق، آیدین آناتولی و حلب شام و از اوایل قرن یازدهم ه. ق در استرآباد و مرو ساکن بودند. مردم داغستان حداقل تا قرن سیزدهم، اهالی گنجه و قراباغ و ایروان را قاجار عنوان میکردند.[۲]

KAJAR. The Kajars are considered a subgroup of the Azerbaijanis*. Historically, they have been a Turkic* Tribe who lived in Armenia. In the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, when the Safavids tried to conquer the region, the Kajars settled in the Karabakh Khanate of western Azerbaijan. Agha Mohammed, a Kajar leader, overturned the Zend dynasty in Iran and established Kajar control in the area. This arrangement lasted u^il Reza Shah came to power in Iran in 1925. The Kajar population today exceeds 35,000 people, the vast majority of whom live in Iran.
