Telecommunications Policy Analyst
The Competitive Enterprise Institute seeks a Telecommunications Policy Analyst. The analyst will conduct CEI research, advocacy, analysis, and outreach regarding legislative, regulatory, and legal issues surrounding telecommunications and the FCC, Internet freedom, e-commerce, and information privacy. The analyst/economist will also work on related legal and public policy issues that significantly affect the telecommunications and technology sectors, including communications law, antitrust, administrative law, and commercial speech regulation. Internships
The Competitive Enterprise Institute internship program gives interested students and recent college graduates the opportunity to learn about and promote the principles of limited government, free enterprise, and individual liberty. We pair interns with members of CEI’s staff for a direct mentorship experience.
Schedule of Terms
Summer: June-August

Experiences Offered
Interns are assigned to work for a specific CEI expert for the duration of their internship. Some interns participate directly in public policy research on one or more of CEI’s many issue areas. Others work in communications, fundraising, or IT. When applying, please indiciate if you have a preference. Successful candidates will have strong writing, research, and analytical skills regardless of their area of focus.
Stipend
CEI offers both paid and unpaid internships. Upon being interviewed, exceptional applicants may be offered a stipend. Internships for which a student receives academic credit are always unpaid.
Partnership with Charles Koch Institute
The Competitive Enterprise Institute is proud to be a partner organization for the Charles Koch Institute’s professional education programs. Applicants can participate in one of CKI’s semester-long internship or fellowship programs while working at CEI. The Charles Koch Institute currently provides a stipend of $450 a week for participants.
Housing
CEI does not provide interns with housing. Prospective interns, however, have several housing options. Washington Intern Student Housing provides year-round accomodations, and Georgetown University, George Washington University, and American University offer summer intern housing.
