Rental Housing
The Residential Tenancies Act, 2006 (RTA) came into effect on January 31, 2007. The legislation governs residential tenancies in Ontario and sets out rights and responsibilities for landlords and tenants. The legislation affects approximately 1.6 million renter households in Ontario, representing about 30 per cent of Ontario’s households.
