Appeals & Approvals
The Building Code Act, 1992 and the Building Code provide mechanisms whereby decisions of enforcement officials can be appealed, and where innovative building materials may be approved and introduced to market. Accordingly, Ontario's Building Code Commission operates as an expert adjudicative body where Building Code disputes are heard in a timely manner. In addition, the Building Materials Evaluation Commission and Minister's Rulings serve as ways to receive evaluation and approval for new building products.
