On the nationally syndicated radio talk show “The Mark Levin Show” with host Mark Levin on Monday, Israeli Ambassador to the United States Ron Dermer warned that “there’s a price of doing nothing” concerning Iran and the defense of Israel.

“[T]here’s a price of doing nothing,” stated Israeli Ambassador to the United States Ron Dermer. “Just like there’s a price of doing something, there’s a price of doing nothing. And in Israel’s history, the price of doing nothing is usually much greater than the price of doing something.”

The Israeli ambassador’s comments came after Iran, according to CNSNews.com, exceeded “the amount of low-enriched uranium permitted under the 2015 nuclear deal,” Secretary of State Mike Pompeo suggesting, “No nuclear deal should ever allow the Iranian regime to enrich uranium at any level.”

Below is a transcript of Israeli Ambassador Ron Dermer’s remarks with Mark Levin on the show Monday:

Mark Levin: “Ambassador Ron Dermer, ambassador to the United States from Israel. So, my question, Mr. Ambassador: when you strike in Syria on these Iranian military sites or operations, are you concerned, is the prime minister concerned – I mean – prepared for a military reaction?

Israeli Ambassador to the United States Ron Dermer: “Well, we always take that into account.  But Mark, we have no choice. We have to defend ourselves. Iran is a regime that has vowed to destroy the state of Israel, and they work every day to advance that goal. And we are not going to allow them to entrench themselves militarily in Syria and to create another front against Israel.

“They already have one in Lebanon. In southern Lebanon they’ve established a beachhead through Hezbollah, which is a terror proxy of Iran – which effectively controls Lebanon today. They support Hamas on the southern side of Israel in Gaza, and they have fired thousands of rockets at us. Hezbollah’s also fired thousands of rockets at us. And now what they’re trying to do in Syria is entrench themselves militarily to create another front against Israel, really, to put a noose around Israel’s neck, and we’re not going to allow them to do it.

“And any time you engage in military action, there’s always, you always have to calculate and think about a potential response. But there’s a price of doing nothing. Just like there’s a price of doing something, there’s a price of doing nothing. And in Israel’s history, the price of doing nothing is usually much greater than the price of doing something.

“And the prime minister has been very clear, and I think the people of Israel overwhelmingly supported that we’re going to do what we have to do to defend ourselves. And that’s [in] Syria or anywhere else.”
