Read the blogs after Sunday's 'events' which were previously described as 2 events at the same time and place but seperate and non-religious (at least for Mannam).  Discover how the unknowing folks who attended by Mannam's invite were shocked.

I'm not here to criticize the beliefs of SCJ or anything of the like.  But it is undeniable that these 2 groups are deeply connected and essentially one and the same.

I found that second link to be especially interesting. Man, am I glad I didn't go to that thing and that I found out about these people in time. All of that is ten types of creepy.

Let's make sure to keep an eye on these guys.

Let's keep this on topic.

We shouldn't be discussing religion in of itself here.  Nor can we be discussing the validity of one religion over another, whether it's a cult or not etc.  The thread is to discuss whether or not there are connections between Mannam and other groups (including religious ones) as well as to discuss anything else concerning Mannam.

From the Waygook.org Terms and Conditions:

--- Quote --- Posts or threads about religion or matters related are with the exception of providing links to the name, location, and times of officially recognized religious services may result in said post(s) being edited or thread being locked. The reason for this stance is that whilst freedom of expression is otherwise welcomed, such content is provocative and potentially inflammatory and moderators wish to prevent flamewars from occurring.

Actually, this thread is to raise and maintain awareness of Mannam among foreigners in Korea and to cut through some of the confusion under which the organization operates.

Either way, yeah, let's stick to that.

*Bump* Many Mannam groups are reappearing after a period of public shyness. They haven't changed their objectives or methods, so we shouldn't forget them either.

Ok, so my soccer team was invited to a soccer tournament, playing teams from different nationalities, (Vietnam, China, Uzbekistan etc)...

We didn't have much information on who exactly was hosting or why, etc, but we found out just before, that it was Mannam. Obviously, many of our team were aware of their reputation, and were reluctant to play. Anyways, in the end we decided to play anyways, and have a group mentality to stand upto them if they tried to push any religious or theological propaganda our way.

I was asked to be interview by them. Again, this raised more alarm bells, but to my surprise, they let me speak freely and openly. They were trying to use the event for photo ops, but refused when they tried to push the whole 'v' thing on us.

Anyways, the soccer itself was great. Well run, organised, and it was great fun. There was zero propaganda, religious spiel or any information of ours taken.

The second weekend rolled around, and again it was the same, well run, organised, fun. We turned up, played and left, that's it.

Now we have made it to the regional final event next week, I am however, concerned that things may take a twist and they may step up their efforts. Again though, as one of the teams in the tournament, they can't function without us and so if we boycott, i'm sure they will thing twice about pushing their ideas on us.

However, isn't there a saying; 'nothing is free'. So of course, they are organizing a great tournament, even offering trophies and prize money etc. As long as we switch off to their other motives and just concentrate on the soccer, i'm sure it's a small price to pay.

Anyways, i'll give you up an update after this weekend.
