Do I have to pay to download files?
NO! Happy Puppy is totally free to users.
Can I share my login information with a friend?
No. By accepting the terms of service offered by happypuppy.com you are not allowed to share your login information with a friend. If we learn that you have been doing this then we will cancel your account with Happy Puppy immediately. We have to take this seriously so we can afford to offer you the fastest downloads on the web — if you respect us we can offer you better and better service.
Can I login from any computer?
Yes, just type in your username and password and you will be ready to go. If you are using a public computer do not choose the option to save your log-in information — this way your account will not be available for other people to use.

How do I contact Happy Puppy?
Mailing Address: 33-41 Newark St, Office 1A
Hoboken, New Jersey 07030
Email: info@happypuppy.com
What are the system requirements for the Happy Puppy service?
To use the Happy Puppy site and the FileSwarm you will need a Windows 98 / NT / ME / 2000 / XP computer running IE version 5.0 and above with an Internet connection. You are responsible for paying for your Internet connection fees.
The file I downloaded doesn't work. Why and what can I do?
Try downloading the file again and see if it works the second time. We try our hardest to make sure that you have files that are direct from the publisher so they should work. If you find a file that is just not working at all please let us know and we will get in touch with the publisher to see why the file isn’t working.
What is the Happy Puppy FileSwarm?
The Happy Puppy FileSwarm is a unique piece of technology that allows you, the user, to download files at incredible speeds, utilizing the maximum amount of bandwidth that your internet connection will allow! Through the use of standard technologies such as Sun's Java, combined with standard web browsing (http), the Happy Puppy FileSwarm allows you to accelerate your downloads, making your web experience better than you can imagine.
How does the Happy Puppy FileSwarm work?
The Happy Puppy FileSwarm is a very small Java application that gets installed on your computer. It does require that you have some components from Sun Microsystems installed, which total about 8 MB (these components will be installed automatically, unless you already have them installed). This is a one time installation. Once the Happy Puppy FileSwarm is installed, you will be able to download files from happypuppy.com as you would from any other website. Once you click on a file, it will first open a Java splash screen, then it will pop-up the standard web browser save-as window. You select where you want to save the file and the Happy Puppy FileSwarm technology takes over from there!

Once the download begins, it will connect to the Happy Puppy file severs and begin downloading the file from all the available locations at once. You will notice that, in the browser's download window, the speed at which you are downloading might fluctuate somewhat. This is perfectly normal, as the file is being taken from multiple sources, each of which is on its own high speed connection, but each of which has different loads, so the speed might not be the same at every server.

Additionally, we have added a component to this technology that is guaranteed to make certain that you get the most bang for your buck. We have added a peer-to-peer (P2P) functionality, which is entirely seamless to you. The way this functions is simple. First, your download will connect and begin from the Happy Puppy file servers. Next, the Happy Puppy FileSwarm will look to see if there are any other users out there who have already downloaded the same file, and check to see if they are online, and capable of sharing the file with you. That user's computer will then be added to the list of servers that you are downloading the file from. So, as an example, let's say you are downloading a file from three of the Happy Puppy servers at once, then the Happy Puppy FileSwarm finds three other people that have the file, and they are capable of sharing the file with the FileSwarm, it will add these three locations. Now you will be downloading from six locations at once! This ensures that you are getting the absolute maximum speed for your download.
What does the Happy Puppy FileSwarm not do?
The Happy Puppy FileSwarm is not a typical P2P application as you might think. There is no desktop application that you can run, and use to search for files. It is not resource intensive and will not load useless software onto your machine, take control, or pops up annoying banners. The P2P functionality is strictly in place to enhance the performance of your experience, and will not invade your privacy!

The Happy Puppy FileSwarm is also not a way for you or anyone else to directly access someone else's computer. It is a secure tool; the FileSwarm is only capable of accessing Happy Puppy file servers.

The Happy Puppy FileSwarm will not interfere with your cable modem/DSL router, web servers, ftp servers or any other application that you are running on your computer. It is designed to be lightweight, invisible, and incredibly functional!
How much faster are downloads when I use the FileSwarm?
The actual speed of a download could be 10 to 20 times faster than a regular download using public servers. The actual speed you get when you download a file depends on a lot of things though. It's limited by the speed of your modem, and the reliability of your Internet Service Provider.
How do I use the Happy Puppy FileSwarm?
Using the FileSwarm is no different than using any other server to download your files. First log in to Happy Puppy and pick the file you want to download as you normally would. Your download will automatically start from your multiple private servers using the Happy Puppy FileSwarm technology. It's that easy.
I have the Happy Puppy FileSwarm, so why aren't my downloads faster?
The download speed is a product of many factors outside of our control. Your connection to the Internet on your end, your ISP's connection to the Internet, the distance between you and the server, etc. We can not guarantee that your downloads will be faster since we don't have control over all the steps in the download process.
