Who are you?
My name is Yoshiharu Habu. I was born in Tokorozawa, Saitama (near Tokyo), September 27, 1970. I became a professional Shogi player at the age of 15, and I have 4 of the 7 biggest titles in Shogi.
Where and how do you live?
Now I live in Setagaya ward, in Tokyo. I'm out of Tokyo 120 days a year to play Shogi, and other 140 days for other engagements.
Can you name the three most important things in your life at the moment?
First is that I encountered Shogi. Second, that I have many people who taught me to play Shogi (my parents, my master [Mr. Futagami], and others who supported me). Third is my marriage and the birth of my daughters.
Besides games, what's your favourite pastime?
Swimming and travelling (not for the job).
