Leland L. Fuerstman, 57,
DOB 5-21-47 (Gemini). Born: Charlotte, N.C. 3 sons, Mischa
(27), Joseph (24), Sammy
(22), Grand Daughter Sidney Elizabeth (2),
Grandson Nathaniel Edwin (3mo) and a cat named
Fraidy (10). Earned AAS Degree in Business
Administration from Central Piedmont Community College, Real Estate Investor
& Owner of Fuerstman Realty.. Vietnam veteran (67'-68' ). Learned chess
at age 5, taught by sister "Joan". First chess tournament was the 1970
"Groundhog" in Charlotte directed by R. Grady Brown. (Defeated a 1650 player
in first tournament game!) Founded the Charlotte Chess Club in 1975. Achieved
the title of National Master in 1985. Organized and directed hundreds of
tournaments. Over the years. has served as President, Vice-President, Secretary,
and "Gambit Editor" of the NCCA.
Other interests include: entertaining beautiful Diane,
guitar and vocal, pocket billiards, weight-lifting and workout, golf, tennis,
swimming, journalism, cooking in and out and partying with chess cronies
on weekends, and, partying with chess cronies Monday thru Friday. Dude,
when does this guy have time to work?
