To join a tournament, type "tell", the name of the tourney director, then type "join". So type "tell tomato join" to join a tomato tournament. (More information on Tomato tournaments.) Some tournaments do not use the Tomato family of tournament directors, see Standard Time Tourney, STC Bunch and Team 45 45 League.

ICC has tournaments for wild (nonstandard chess) also.
