Shahcom Company was created in 1990 by Boris Yeshan, a former member of the Leningrad Chess Club. From the beginning Shahcom's activities combined two directions: chess and computers. These two words comprise the name of the company. The main business of our Company is a computerized demonstration service. Thanks to Integrated Chess Computer System (ICCS) "Shahcom" we have been of service to major international tournaments since 1994. Initial versions of the ICCS "Shahcom" were tested at the early 1990-ies at the famous chess tournaments:
The whole system was first used at the super tournament "Lord Novgorod The Great" in 1994 thanks to Garry Kasparov. From that time Shahcom has provided computerized demonstration services for many major international tournaments. Our main purpose is to provide a choice for spectators and organizers alike. For this purpose, our computerized system is unique in that it works as a complete independent network which can be connected with all media standards which carry chess information (TV, Internet, chess databases). Also we are active in publishing. We published such books as "Elected games" by V.Korchnoi, "Hastings Chess Tournament 1895" etc. Russian Encyclopedia of Chess Openings was issued on diskettes.
