New Flash Drive Comes With Screen For Viewing File Names
by , 5:10 PM EST, January 3rd, 2006
Royal Consumer Information Products on Tuesday launched a new series of Royal EZVue Vista Drives with built-in, scrolling two-line displays for viewing the files they contain. The flash drives connect via USB 2.0.
The Royal EZVue Vista Drives' screens enable users to view files' respective directories or subdirectories and scroll to the right to read longer file names as well as sizes and creation dates. A jump key moves between directories and subdirectories.
The drives also come preloaded with Allway Sync Pro software, but it only runs on Windows. They are available in 128MB (US$49.99), 256MB ($69.99), 512MB ($99.99) and 1GB ($149.99) capacities. Royal also introduced an SD Card reader/writer ($29.99) that also includes the two-line display.
Product pages were not available on Royal's Web site as The Mac Observer posted this article. The company will have its products on display during this week's Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.
