ICC Software for Windows
When you play on the ICC, you need to run software (called a client or interface)
on your computer to connect, display a chess board, chat, and let you make moves
using the mouse.
Download BlitzIn
BlitzIn is the best and most popular way to use ICC. And it's
free! English, Spanish, Portuguese, German, French, Italian, Norwegian, Swedish,
Danish, and Icelandic versions are available.
Alternative Windows clients can also be used:
Icarus from Random
Software is a new ICC interface for Windows. Icarus has many nice graphics
and sound features.
WinBoard, developed by Tim Mann (milwaukee on ICC), is a free
interface with firewall support and a chess engine protocol.
Chess Assistant from Convekta Ltd. will work as a graphical
interface to ICC. You can use its chess engine and database capabilities between
games, or if you're on ICC's computer list you can use them during games.
On Windows it is also possible to use Java Interfaces such as Jin.
