Dear Chessa Council Member
A vote of no confidence in Mr Ball in his capacity as Chessa President and Mr Parkin in his capacity as Chessa Executive Director was passed at an inquorate Chessa Council meeting that was held on the 14th of April 2007. The vote of no confidence was proposed by Mr Mark January acting on behalf of SAJCA and was seconded by Mr Brian Aitchison acting on behalf of Gauteng West.
The Chessa Executive (Administration) has failed to invoke the procedure envisaged by clause 11.8 of the Chessa Constitution to confirm a resolution passed at an “inquorate” meeting.
Considering the importance of the vote of no confidence in Mr Ball and Mr Parkin, SAJCA has now decided to invoke the confirmation procedure envisaged by clause 11.8 of the Constitution.
We attach the following documents:
You are hereby called upon in terms of clause 11.8 of the Constitution to indicate if your Region supports the vote of no confidence against Mr Ball and Mr Parkin. Please note that those Chessa Council members, who were in attendance at the time when the vote of no confidence was passed, may not vote again. This also applies to the one abstention.
We wish to advise that 8 Council members voted in favour of the motion and 1 abstained.
Please forward all replies on or before the 14th of May 2007 to the Vice President, Mrs Emelia Ellappen (ellappen@telkomsa.net) as well as to sajca@sajca.com.
Mark C. January
