"Pregnant Man" Gives Birth to Girl

this is not news...

it is a female having a kid, it happens everyday,
a lot of females have their boobs cut off everyday.. due to cancer.
a lot of females have facial hair with out trying to have it.
a lot of females wear mens clothing.

It is disrespectful to call him a woman. He says he is a man. It is because of sacks of shit like you that women like me are broken into and beaten nearly to death (I was), thrown through windows (I was), called names, denied work, harassed, denied our gender identity, etc.

He might not be male, but he is a man. Man is a social role, male is biology.

Maybe someday, if you call a TS woman a man or a TS man a woman, they will eliminate you for disrespecting them like that and denying them the opportunity to live according to their true gender (not what their body says, but who *THEY* are). I like to think that there is a God who loves women like me enough to punish those who dare disrespect me by accusing me of being a man, all because of my birth defect.

He is a man wrongly born with Harry Benjamin Syndome. Man and woman are strictly social roles and refer to the brain wiring and the soul. Male and female refer to what you have, not who you are, what you do, nor how you function in society. This person has the right to function in society as a man *AND* be fully accepted as such, despite his birth defect.

Maybe you will someday give birth to a daughter born wrongly in a male body, and she will get beat to death for living as a woman and insisting she is a woman. I would hope that is not the case.

I once counseled a man - born male - who was sexually abused fairly severely as a foster child "in the system" - for years. Later, as an adult, he decided he was "really" a woman "trapped" in a man's body. He was diagnosed, long before I came along with a Disassociative Disorder and a Gender Identity Disorder, as well as Posttraumatic Stress Disorder - all fairly severe disorders that are classified as mental illnesses in the DSM-IV-R and by the APA.

The mere fact that this person kept their female organs "just in case" shows a great deal of ambiguity and ambivalence in this circumstance. I'm amazed than any reputable surgeon would do the treatment under those conditions. Given the situation, I'd have to wonder if the procedure was carried out outside the US, due to issues with mental health stability. There are generally years of testing and quite rigerous requirements before sex-change reassignment surgery will be done - and then it is never done "half-way" deliberately like this "just in case". So if there was so much ambivalence.... I'd have to wonder, from the psychological point of view - was there really total psychological stability?

The issue of maleness - femaleness is not "philosophical" - it's simple biology - and these days we can change biology if the will and desire are strong enough. Don't go all mumbo jumbo. Sex-reassignment surgery corrects a percieved disfunction. If a person is mentally uncomfortable with their biological sexual characteristics, but is emotionally stable enough, they can apply for the surgery. No mumbo jumbo needed.

Of course, this is the same type of disorder as those people who seek surgery to remove other body parts because they are manifestly uncomfortable, so they try and have limbs amputated - perfectly healthy limbs, I might add - because they don't "feel right" and it "drives them crazy" to have a healthy hand or foot at the end of their limb. They may even try and remove it themselves - as one patient I know tried to remove his own penis. Because he wanted to be a girl.

But in our Politically Correct world, the guy who was molested in the barn at age 9, and grows up hating his own sexual organs, and is ill for the rest of his life, will be allowed to mutilate himself in the name of "rights" - and the person who tries to cut off his foot will be rightly given the treatment he so desperately needs.

Go figure....

By definition only a woman can give birth to a baby. Or maybe he/she is a hermaphrodite. Many women have beards--I think about 2 percent have some beard growth.

But if the person's identity is male, then he should say he "fathered the baby" or is a dad. The problem with saying a "man gave birth" is that it is a lie in one way or another.

I think the point remains. The story uses the juxtaposition of these definitions to gain a sensationist spin. It deserves less attention, because indeed - this is no pregnant male.

It's a human being with the mind of a male, the physical biology of a female capable of giving birth. Really nothing new about that.

I know you have personal problems, and I fully respect that .. but I really think it is a bit unfair to indirectly verbally offend...and extend the blame - as you did here to another poster, who was just giving his opinion..
After that I would be almost fearful to expressing my opinion about this case.
