Chess 69 — the konsequent further developement of PowerChess.

What is different, what is new?

The board is still based on the usual 8x8 arrangement of the usual chess, however with the difference, that the board has 69 squares now. How is this possible? This is possible, if the board isn't halved only in the row, but also in the line, and when both halfs are moved one square to the left. The new geometric arrangement causes that 5 new fields join. The new fields are the squares 4 and 5 as well as D and E and the square "69".

The squares look so:

It makes the impression that a spiral form of the squares in the middle of the board is made by the double shifting. It gets clear, that for the representation of the squares also irregular four-sided figures get required besides squares and parallelograms.

I call the midfield "69".

4 Switches !

The effect of 4 switches is shown on the right. They might affect decisively the final moves.

4 Transfer Fields !

Regarding the "color change" of the bishop cf. the explanations about PowerChess.

By the way: It is striking that a bishop/a queen starting for example from a1 in Chess 69 now can reach h6. This is due to the twice repeated splitting of the board which leads to a double shifting.

The initial position!

The initial position is requiring a little habituation.

"White queen on white square and black queen on black square" belong to the past. In Chess 69 the queens are starting on white squares.

It is particularly remarkable that all bishops move on equal colour diagonals.

These are my explanations about Chess 69.
