Load your favorite Portable Game Notation (*.pgn) format chess games into our
Windows chess screen saver and
PGN viewer. Try the free download version for 30 days. This program comes with
60 Memorable Games by Bobby Fischer, and 41 all time classic
Grandmaster games,
including the Immortal Game, Evergreen Game, Garry Kasparov versus Deep Blue, and many
more.
If you play like to play chess and you have a PGN listing of the moves from your last
game, then you should download this program. Now, you can impress your family,
friends, and opponents, or just study your own brilliant games by
displaying them with our screen saver, or PGN viewer. This program
is compatible with PGN file generatated by FICS. If you
prefer, you can download your favorite Grandmaster's games from the Internet, or any PGN files for that matter,
and display them
as well. See the download page for this program for a small
selection of PGN files that are currently available on the net. A
screen shot of the program in action is shown below.
on the image below for a full size example of the chess board
displayed by this program.
As you can see (in the full size image), the program will display the most relevant PGN tag
pair information, such as White player, Black player, Results of the
game, Date, and the Event. It can also display comments, that are
contained within PGN files. It will also display the last move
displayed, and the current material strength for black and white
based upon the standard chess piece point totals. Users can interact
with the program by pressing the appropriate keyboard commands, such
as pressing the 'f' key to flip the board; using the left arrow key
to immediately display the next move, or pressing the 'End' key to
skip to the end of the currently displayed game. See the Readme file
installed with the program for more details.
Users can configure a wide range of options for this screen saver using the
ChessGeek.com Screen Saver Setup dialog box (as shown below, click
here, or on the image for full size screen shot).
From the setup dialog, user can change which PGN file is diplayed,
how long to pause between moves, and games, whether or not to
continue with the last move displayed the last time the program was
run, and whether or not to cycle through all games in the selected
file, or just the currently selected game. Users can also configure
such things as the board colors, last move highlight color, the
current chess set used, or whether or not to display board
coordinates, or comments. Again, checkout the Readme file included
with the program for more details.
Some of the new
features in version 2.0 include enhanced graphics, the ability to
generate BITMAP images from the setup dialog using the Generate BMPs
check box to capture images of the current board position, as the
game is displayed, and the Layout drop-down list which can be used
to quickly configure the program using one of the default factory
layouts.
I am very pleased with your program.
I am currently working on different openings and your screen saver / viewer will be of a big help.
Thanks for your labor of Love. - Bill Everly
Congratulations on your screensaver - I've been waiting for a while for
something like that to come out - well done! - Mike
You asked for it so here it is. Straight out of the dust balls.
An old 68k based transcript analyzer for the PlayMaker Football game (PMFB). Now available once again by request.
If you would like to learn more about PMFB, please visit the PlayMaker.com website, or
PMFB network. I have made available the last full featured version of the program that
I put together some years ago, (version 1.3.1b), and the remains of a version that was never finished completely, (version 2.0a).
I currently make no quarantees about the quality with which either of the programs works with the most recent versions of the PMFB program or
its transcripts.
