Our traditional rules and ratings combined with
I.C.C.F.'s powerful internet chess server!

Rules

All CCLA server tournaments use a time limit of 10 moves in 40 days. Internet access and a valid email address are required. If you have never played chess using a webserver, CCLA is an excellent place to start, as you will be given step-by-step instructions and all questions will be answered. Note: continuous membership in CCLA is required by our ByLaws, or all games, prizes and advancements will be forfeited.



SERVER SERIES

The Winter Series has an entry deadline of January 15th, Spring Series - April 15th, Summer Series - July 15th and Fall Series - October 15th.

Series is a quarterly, semi-class event similar in structure to our Leadership event. Entrants are grouped according to their ratings, with 5-7 players in each section, one game per opponent. There are no prizes. Multiple entries permitted. Entry fee $ 6.00 per section.


SERVER OPEN CHAMPIONSHIP

A 2-round event, with entries accepted throughout the calendar year. Limited to players rated 1600 & over.

Preliminary round sections will have 7 players, one game per opponent. Play in a section will not start until section has filled. Entry fee $ 10.00 per section, multiple entries permitted. Winner (and ties) of each section advances to the finals. Prizes (1st-3rd) for this event are $10/$7/$5 x number of Round 1 sections.


CCLA SERVER CHAMPIONSHIP and
SERVER NORTH AMERICAN CLASS CHAMPIONSHIPS

The SERVER CHAMPIONSHIP is a two-round, annual event limited to Masters and Experts. Each winner of a Round 1 section, and all players scoring 75% or better, advances to the final round. The winner receives the title of CCLA SERVER CHAMPION.

The NORTH AMERICAN SERVER CLASS CHAMPIONSHIP is a two-round, annual event with three rating groups: A, B and C & under. Each winner of a Round 1 section, and all players scoring 75% or better, advances to the final round. Winners in the A, B and C & under groups receive the title of CCLA Server North American Class Champion. Prizes are $20 in each finals section. Entry fee is $8 per Round 1 section; entry deadline is February 15th.



New MET League

CCLA SPONSORED TEAM PLAY ON THE SERVER

Any chess club or organization team may challenge another. Affiliate fee is $19.00 per year. Teams consist of 4 players. Entry fee is $6.00 per player. To view current matches in play, click HERE.
