Our Mission

We`re on a mission from Caissa.

Our mission?

To become the best chess club in the world and to promote chess in Gwent.

Club Profile

We are one of the biggest clubs in Gwent and like to think we are also one of the friendliest.

We aim to provide a friendly atmosphere in which members can:

Learn how to play.
Improve standards of play.
Play games against players of many varied standards.
Play in one of our teams in Gwent and Welsh competitions.

We are members of the Gwent Chess Association and play in the Newport and District leagues and Gwent Cups.

We are also members of the Welsh Chess Union and play in their knockout cups.
