Massively.com recently did a bit of investigative work on NCSoft's Q1 financial reports, and came up with some interesting results. Most notably, Tabula Rasa appeared to be missing from said reports. In response to this development, NCSoft has addressed Tabula Rasa's status in an article on Eurogamer today:

"Tabula Rasa has a dedicated player base, which is growing month on month," said an NCsoft Europe spokesman.

Focusing on the squad system and clan controlled points, this week's Feedback Friday starts off with on a bit of a dour note:

Spring is in the air, the treemites are coming out to play and it feels like update time again. As stated in Starr's update, the team has gotten smaller. With a smaller post production group, you have to concentrate on the things that will make the product better and prioritize features that will make the game enjoyable for the players. So the team got together, and talked about what that would make the project better in the short term based on their thoughts of the game and player feedback. We came away with two big features that we felt would really make a large amount of difference.

The article goes on in a much more positive vein so click below to read the rest.

The v1.7 patch is now available on Tabula Rasa's test server. There is one note of caution for potential testers, however:

1.7 is now on the Public Test Server. Please be advised, if you are patching from version 1.6.6.1 you may get an error message and won't be able to patch to 1.7. We hope to have this issue resolved shortly.

As soon as a full list of fixes and improvements is available, we'll post it for your perusal.

Tabula Rasa's weekly article has been posted. Feedback Friday for April 4, 2008 features a discussion of build v1.7 and some questions from the community regarding various aspects of the game.

Hey Everyone,

We hope you've had a great week (aside from the constant Bane attacks and carnage you've come across on the Front Lines). This Feedback Friday we'd like to talk a bit about the status of the 1.7 build and give a little insight on what we're currently working on here at Destination Games. Also, we'll answer a few questions and address some common topics from the Feedback From.

1.7 - When can we see it?

We're finishing up some testing with the 1.7 build and fixing a few issues before we make it public. We hope to have a fresh build ready for PTS some time next week. What else can you expect in 1.7? Here's one more preview before it goes to PTS:

  • Respawns: Palisades, Incline, and Plains have had their spawns significantly adjusted to better balance spawn across the full map. Divide and Wilderness have had spot adjustments to remove a few excessively tough areas.
  • Aggro adjustments: Bane and other aggressive mobs on Wilderness, Divide, Plains, Mires, Plateau, and Marshes have adjustments to their aggro groups. You will no longer be able to shoot a Bane in the back and expect that his buddies won't notice. Also, Bane at higher levels will react smarter and more violently compared to their lower level counterparts.

Tabula Rasa is adding a new arena in v1.8 but needs community assistance to name it. Check it out:

image image

The AFS has announced a new fighting arena and need YOUR help in naming it! This new arena sports a large fighter's ring complete with red and blue "corners", bar, medic station, upper deck viewing area, and several recreation rooms. AFS officials have condoned the use of this new area for both 1 vs. 1 and Squad vs. Squad fighting events. The new AFS Arena is accessible from several locations, so even new recruits can join in on the fun.

High Command ordered the location to be built, but they aren't too creative when it comes to naming. We're asking YOU soldier, to submit your ideas for the new Arena name by Friday, April 11, 2008 to trcontests@ncsoft.com. Who knows, we might just pick your entry!
