Congratulations to Andrew Hackett, The 2002 4-H Countywide Public Speaking Contest was held Tuesday night with students competing for 1st and 2nd places. Homestead student Casey Scarlett was the winner in 4th grade, with Mary Patterson the runner up. In the 5th grade division, Courtney Rector of South Cumberland was the winner, with Joseph Blaylock coming in second. Kris Martin, of South Cumberland, won in the 6th grade division, with Katelyn Graham coming in next. The 7th grade winner was Jigna Patel of Stone Elementary with Jenny Simpson being named runner up. Steven Hall of South won the 8th grade division; Sarah Smith came in second. And in the 10th grade division, Andrew Hacket, a Homeschool student was declared the winner. All first place winners will compete next week in Livingston in the Sub-District, with the chance to go to the District finals. Congratulations to all of the winners. |
