If you use Scid often, please consider making a donation. Your support will help the author spend more time developing and improving Scid. You may make a donation of absolutely any size in any major currency.

Of course you can also donate your time by testing beta releases, maintaining language translations, improving the tutorial, etc.

When you make a sufficiently sized donation, you will be sent the latest version of the Scid CD-ROM by airmail. The CD-ROM is updated weekly and contains:

• Windows installers and source code of the latest stable release and beta release.
• All the latest Scid accessory files (spellchecking, player photos, etc).
• A user-friendly tutorial explaining many Scid features, ideal for new users.
• The Scid reference database ("ScidBase"), a very high quality database of more than one million games which is updated from several sources and cleaned weekly.

The suggested donation size to receive a CD is shown in the table below. No extra postage is necessary, but the suggested amounts may change if exchange rates move significantly. If you want to donate in any currency other than those shown below and still receive a Scid CD-ROM, please ask me first.

Larger donations qualify for more CDs, at any time you wish, and donations are cumulative. By default, they will be spread out over one year with minor adjustment to fit in with new releases. For example, if you donate enough to receive 4 CDs, you'll be sent one approximately every 3 months unless you request otherwise. Donate enough for 5 CDs, and I'll send a 6th one too.

Payment methods

You can send a donation in a number of ways:

• PayPal (to the PayPal account name: shane.hudson@paradise.net.nz). You can use PayPal to make a donation with any major credit card.
  
• International bank check or money order, or Western union money transfer. High fees, so not very cost-effective.
• Please do not send a personal check without asking me first as depositing one can be difficult.
• If none of the above suit, you can send cash at your own risk. This is the easiest method for small amounts, and I've never yet heard of a cash donation going missing. Post notes only inside cardboard, never post coins.

Whichever method you use to donate, please email me letting me know the payment details and your postal address if you want a CD-ROM. You'll be sent your first CD-ROM (and an email confirmation it is on its way) as soon as your donation is received.
