The "Malecon" is a broad pedestrian walkway atop the seawall in the central part of Puerto Vallarta.

Continuing south past the central square we find the Naval Museum and the Balanced Rocks
This is the pedestrian bridge over the River Quale.
From the bridge there is stairway access to the Quale River Island, a peaceful retreat from
all the crowd activity of the rest of Puerto Vallarta. There are several shops along the tree lined
walkway and Oscar's, a very nice restaurant.
Oscar's waiter, Raul, serves up a great margarita and nacho quesadillas along with some really nice guitar background.
Mismaloya Beach is located on Banderas Bay, several miles south of Puerto Vallarta. This is where
"The Night of the Iguana" was filmed. It was all the publicity of the Elizabeth Taylor - Richard Burton
affair that gave Puerto Vallarta a start towards being a tourist destination,
Chico's restaurant is located in the jungle a short distance inland from Mismaloya Beach. It's
under a huge palapa by a beautiful waterfall.. good food, great entertainment and the world's most
powerful Coco Loco.
