Please note the following -
The Second Edition of Bosworth now features disk style game pieces rather than the playing card game pieces used in the first edition. Any reference to "cards" in earlier reviews should be read as "game pieces" to reflect this change.

“Bosworth is a fast, fun and addictive chess variant that seems to work best with four players fighting it out on a crowded board.”
Michael Erb, Parkersburg News and Sentinel, USA

"Bosworth is a clever, visual variation on chess."
David Millans, Games in Education Magazine, USA

"BOSWORTH is simple in design and daunting to master."
Fred Jandt, Games Unplugged, November 2001 (#13)

"A well thought through and dynamic game that will always bring fun to your next party."
Joachim Goemann, The Netherlands

"Because of the humorous design and the easy to learn rules, this game is surely recommended. It will provide many evenings of fun."
Spelinfo, The Netherlands

"The design of this game is very nice . . .always good for a short intermezzo from fifteen minutes to maximum an hour."
Casus Belli, News Brief, The Netherlands

"This 32-square board (6 x 6 without corners) provides the arena for many a lively battle. . . but you needn't be an expert chess player to enjoy these sneaky skirmishes."
Robin King, Games Magazine, USA

"Bosworth is easy to pick-up if you know a little about chess . . .with plenty of opportunities for rivalry and tricky play."
Kim Guarnaccia, Renaissance Magazine, USA

"Bosworth is quite a fun game to play."
Kerry Handscomb, Abstract Games Magazine, Canada

"The game is perfect for someone like myself who likes a little chess but has neither the patience for it nor the talent for its complexities. And you don't even have to know chess, just the moves."
Bruce Whitehill, Games Games Games Magazine, UK

"...a wild melee for three or four. Real chess strategy plays only a small role, so you can enjoy it even if you know little more than how the pieces move."
Burt Hochberg, Games Magazine, USA

"I really liked Bosworth - it had enough strategy to keep my mind occupied, but at the same time it was unpredictable enough that I didn't feel hopelessly outclassed . . . I recommend Bosworth"
Keith Baker, Contagious Dreams, USA

"This ingenious game is easy to play and a whole lot of fun."
David Katzner, The National Parenting Center, USA

"And fun is the right word. Although there is a lot of skill in Bosworth, the accent is on entertainment."
David Pritchard, Games Games Games Magazine, UK

"The game is highly enjoyable, and it's certainly the best variant of chess I have played so far."
Frank Schulte-Kulkmann, Kulkmann's G@mebox, Germany

"On a [Bosworth] flyer, a whole list of positive remarks from English language game publications are quoted. A choir that one likes to join."
L. U. Dikus, Fairplay Magazine, Germany

"Bosworth is a successful game."
Helmut Wresnik, Spielerei Magazine, Germany

"Bosworth is the first chess variation that is really convincing."
Christoph Jaschke, Die Pöppel-Revue Magazine, Germany

Paul Evans, Games Games Games Magazine, UK

"Got chess? Get Bosworth!"

Herb Levy, Gamers Alliance Quarterly, USA

"Bosworth is a tense game of cat-and-mouse. The super-imposed extra layer of strategy makes [Bosworth] one of the most enjoyable commercial chess variants we've seen."
Burt Hochberg, Gamescafe.com, USA
