Fellow mapper releasing a very nice looking map!
I don't normally post about other folk's maps since there are plenty of more popular
sites than mine that does, but this one is an exception. A fellow mapper, B0lty B0y
is about to release his map with a western theme. This map looks very, very impressive.
Check out the screenshots here.

Beta Release of Mountain Assault!
My second map, Mountain Assault, is ready for some beta testing. In this map the allies
are attempting to destroy some vital axis communication equipment that is on top of
and inside of a mountain. Read more about it and download it here.
This is a beta release. Please give me any feedback you have, positive or negative. Only input from
you folks will make this map better. Also, if you run a map downloading site, please do not post this
file or any reviews of this beta (posting news of the beta release and a link to this site is fine thought).
Please wait for the full release. Also, I would appreciate if you
did not mirror the file either. I would like to keep it here. Again, once the full map has been
release you are more than welcome to post reviews and mirror the file. Thanks for your cooperation
and support in this.
Bad Form
I've got two issues that have come to my attention recently that are a bit disturbing.
The first issue is regarding the behavior of some wolf fan sites. There seems to be a bit
of carelessness when it comes to posting new maps. Some sites aren't taking the time to
verify that the map they are about to post is even meant to be posted, or, that the map is
unaltered. This carelessness should be stopped. When folks release a map for beta testing,
they usually don't want it posted all across the world. Fan sites should respect the
mapper's wishes and not post the map. Its really that simple.
The second issue is regarding the habit of mappers doing one of two things. The first thing
is altering an official shader or texture, then including it in your map with the same name
as the official shader or texture. This is bad! This should be avoided at all costs. There
is absolutely no reason what so ever to ever do this. This is a very bad practice. Don't do it.
Secondly, if you create custom textures, sounds, shaders, or whatever, do not put them
in an official wolf directory. Create a directory with your map's name and put your custom
files in there. Mixing your textures in with the official ones creates issues when gtk is
attempting to load up textures.

New Tutorial!
Added a new two part tutorial
on the proper use of Detail and Hint brushes. I attempted to
simplify the concepts so the less technical folks could understand them. I hope
the tutorial helps.

Updated FAQ
Thanks to PurpleDrillMonkey in the
Planetwolfenstein forums for
this one. He was able to
figure out how to get terrain to kick up snow when you shoot it instead of dirt. This is
great considering I'm currently working on a snow based map!
Here it is in the FAQ.
Thanks Purpledrillmonkey.
New site feature added
I added a new feature to the site today. Its called "gtkRadiant Tip of the Moment". Every day or so
I plan on adding some little tip that will help you use gtkRadiant more effeciently and more
effectively. gtkRadiant is a complex tool with more features and hot-keys than you can
imagine. The reason I call it "Tip of the Moment" instead of "Tip of the Day" or
"Tip of the Week" is that I can't promise that I'll update it every single day, but I hope
to update it more than once a week. So, enjoy.

Added a Skybox tutorial
This tutorial is by Valkyrs. He's made a really nice
tutorial on making the cool
skyboxes that are used in maps like Escape1. Using this method really adds a lot of
depth to your map and prevents your terrain from looking like its just chopped off.
Thanks for the contribution Valkyrs. And if any of you know how to
do something that no one else does, feel free to whip up a tutorial and
send it to me.
I'll be happy to post it.

Added another new tutorial
Someone emailed me asking for help with connecting two rooms so I decided to throw
up a tutorial. This tutorial is in two parts, a basic
and advanced. The basic one
does the job but doesn't do it as well as the advanced. Go read them to see
what the heck I'm talking about.

New Total Conversion Added
Added the first Total Conversion, this conversion is called No Man's Land and is based on
WWI. As it happens, they are also currenlty in need of a modeler. Read about that in the
Help Wanted section.
New Tutorial Added: Making your second room
Added a new tutorial. This tutorial teaches the newbie a better way to create a room. If you
still use Hollow to create a room, this tutorial is for you. Also, if you don't caulk the oustide of
your brushes, this tutorial is for you. Its not terribly advanced, just a more efficient method of
building a basic room.
Added the Newbie's FAQ
Added a FAQ geared toward the newbie. Its not quite so basic that it teaches you the exact button
to press for every step of every task, but more geared toward getting familiar with the mapping
community as well as answering some of the more, well, frequently asked questions. I compiled this
FAQ from simply participating in a couple different forums. If there are any questions you think
need to be added, let me know.

My map has finally gone beta!
My first map for RtCW, the Bunker, has finally made it to beta. There are still a couple small
issues with it but nothing I won't fix. If you'd like to download it for a test
run, go ahead. Just, do not distribute to public servers yet!

Added another script tutorial
To help supplement BOlty BOy's great tutorial, I've added what I'm calling
a "basic" script tutorial.
This tutorial does nothing but move a platform through a couple points.
If you've never worked with scripts or are saying
"what are scripts?", this might be a good place to start. If you're familiar with
the concept of scripts or have used them in any way, you may want to skip the
basic and head straight for the advanced tutorial.

Site is open!
Not a ton here yet but I'll be adding stuff soon.
I'd like to thank Justoman from
Wolfen' PSD for his site. I'm no graphics wizard so I just used one of his cutouts for my logo. Thanks Justoman.
Work in progress...
This site still has a long way to go so be patient. I'll be adding more to the Tools & Utilities section, along with more links for Wolf resources very shortly!
Current Project
I'm currently working on my first map for Wolf.
It's going to be a multi-player objective based map.
I may add checkpoint later if the architecture of the map is conducive to it.
