Finally got around to scanning my sketches. Just in case you're wondering, my sketching sucks. :) These sketches are simply a rough guidline for me to help me start visualizing my map.
Here is an overview of the entire map:

Ok, lets decipher all that. The red, green and blue lines are all allied paths to the objectives. The red path takes you by a flag, which allows you to spawn closer to the objective. The blue path is a shorter path, but, it will have a dynamite objective that will be blocking the players path. I'm currently expecting that objective to be some sort of gate structure that the axis can shoot through, but not pass through. Actually, as I type this I think I may make it so the axis can jump down, past the gate, but teh allies cannot get through it without blowing it (sorta like on beach where you blow the door, the axis can jump down to the beach if they are on top of the building above the door, but the allies must blow the door to proceed).

The other things of note in the first sketch are the yellow arrows. Those are going to be windows that you can shoot out of, but not big enough to jump through. Can make some good sniper spots as well as be used to help lay down some cover fire while teamates progress through different areas.

The two center buildings are multi-level structures. The building on the left (west) will contain the documents to be stolen. The building on the right, so far, will have both the axis spawn and the transmit room. I'm currently thinking the axis spawn will be on the upper floor (3rd floor) and the transmit room will be in a basement. I'm still working on that really.

I did rough sketches of the two center buildings as well. Here is the west building:

Its probably hard to figure out my chicken scratch, but basically the lower left corner will be totally open through all 3 levels. That's where a bunch of machinery will go. The north and east corners of the building will contain various rooms and the 3rd level, north side of the building will have the documents (I think). I'm currently seeing two doorways into that room along with a duct (hmm...sounds like beach, no?).

The east building, which holds the axis spawn and the transmit room, looks like this:

You don't see the basement level that I mentioned above because I just thought of it. Basically, this buiding is open on the south side, where the machinery goes, and will have various rooms/offices on the north side. I'm going to be adding a basement level as well.

Anyway, just wanted to get these rough sketches up so you can see the progression of my ideas. Oh, and in case you're wondering, just about all the changes to the layout (except the addition of the second central building) were done to help segment the map and therefore, help with r_speeds.

Today I wanted to finish up getting the scale of the map down. So, I've gone through and created some rough layouts of the other buildings. I also went ahead and created doorways in those buildings so I could get a feel for how long/far the run will be when using each of the paths that the allies can take. Get the here.

Conclusion? Way too freaking big. Back to the drawing board. I'm basically going to be deleting every one of the buildings I put up and doing it again (except the center two).
